Yeah, this is a pretty blatant ripoff of a big college basketball tournament that is happening right now but now is as good a time as any to have the Meat Madness Bracket.
I have split these meats into 4 “regions”: Beef, Pork, Poultry/Seafood, and Charcuterie/Other. Now these aren’t necessarily the most popular cuts of meat out there or even my favorites. Just 64 different cuts that we will match up and have a fight to the finish. I also didn’t seed these cuts. I just randomized each of the regions to give some of the underdogs at least a fighting chance. Some of these are specific cuts and some are different preparations but they are all (well, most of them anyway…) are delicious.
Every couple days for the next week or so I will give you my picks for one of the regions. At the end there will be 4 left for the final showdown and if I am feeling ambitious I will put these 4 meats head to head in a taste test challenge.
Looking at the bracket there are some pretty interesting first round matchups. Like lamb chops vs. pepperoni, kielbasa vs. prosciutto, pork shoulder vs. pork belly, salmon vs. drumsticks, and prime rib vs. NY strip.
