If you have read many of my posts here you could probably deduce that I am a big Weber Kettle fan. There are no grills or bbqs more iconic than the Weber Kettle. I can’t think of any grills that are as versatile as the Weber Kettle. They are excellent for cooking up a mess of hot dogs or burgers, do great with steaks, and can even handle a 16 hour brisket cook.

Personally I have 3 (I am up to 9 now) kettles as seen below. The monster on the left is the Weber Ranch kettle but the other two are the standard 22 inch Weber kettle. And because I know you are curious there is 50 pounds of pork belly in these grills turning into bacon in this picture. 30 pounds on the Ranch and 10 pounds each on the other two. UPDATE: since the time of originally writing this post I got rid of the copper kettle but added a 22 inch Performer with the stainless steel table, a grey kettle from the 70s, a red kettle from the 80s, and a 26 inch kettle. So my collection has grown from 3 to 6.

With Father’s Day coming up I would guess about 99% of the Weber Kettles out there (OK, maybe not quite that many) will be fired up cooking something. And if your dad or husband is like me they like tricking out their kettles with different gadgets and implements to take them to the next level. Don’t get me wrong, a Weber Kettle can cook great on its own but there are a few products out there that will help improve the performance.

Slow N Sear

Slow-N-Sear Plus for the Weber Kettle

In its simplest form the Slow N Sear is a glorified charcoal basket. But that is selling it way short. The Slow N Sear is an invaluable tool for anyone with a Weber Kettle. As the name implies the Slow N Sear is great for long, slow cooks and also for searing a steak. I rarely fire up my grill without using the Slow N Sear.

I have done long cooks like brisket, pork butts, and ribs and it really helps hold a nice low, consistent temperature. The built in water reservoir does a great job of providing some moisture to the cooking chamber as well. The Slow N Sear is also great for reverse searing steaks. Throw about a dozen lit coals in it and the grill will maintain a nice steady 225 degree temperature. After the steak reaches about 110 load the thing up with some blazing hot coals and sear those steaks. I had some nice NY strips done this way tonight.

But what I really like the Slow N Sear for is for stuff that isn’t exactly low and slow bbq but isn’t as fast as a steak either. Chickens turn out amazing in the kettle with the Slow N Sear and my favorite thing to cook with it is tri-tip.

If your dad or husband has a Weber Kettle you can’t go wrong getting the Slow N Sear for Father’s Day. And if you really want to blow their minds get them the “Trifecta” that comes with the Drip N Griddle pan and the EasySpin grate.

Thermoworks Smoke

There is nothing that will help anyone up their meat game more than a quality thermometer. Hitting the right temps on a steak is crucial for a good final product. And if you are cooking low and slow on your kettle you really need to monitor the air temperature as well as the meat temperature. The ThermoWorks Smoke is perfect for the Weber Kettle.

I use my Smoke almost every time I cook. The remote unit and alarms you can set also let you wander away from the grill so you don’t have to babysit it all the time. Order a ThermoWorks Smoke for your dad or husband today.  I would also recommend the ThermoWorks Thermapen MK4, the ThermoWorks Dot, and the Thermopop.

Grill Masters Club

Grill Masters Club box

I recently wrote a review of Grill Masters Club so I won’t get into any huge details here but if your dad or husband likes trying out different rubs and sauces Grill Masters Club will make an awesome gift. Every month they will receive a new box with full size bottles of rubs, sauces, and some other cool grilling gear. Every month is different but the one in the pic above has been my favorite so far. The Wright BBQ sauce and rub were both excellent.

The 3 month subscription is their most popular option and that will run $89.85. They have 6 and 12 month options as well. Some of the boxes will probably be duds but it is pretty cool getting new sauces and rubs every month to try out. Give your dad or husband a subscription to Grill Masters Club for Father’s Day.

And until June 18th you can save up to $20 on your subscription:

$5 off a single month with code GMCFATHERS
$10 off a 3 month subscription with code GMCFATHERS3 (recommended)
$15 off a 6 month subscription with code GMCFATHERS6
$20 off a 12 month subscription with code GMCFATHERS12

Give your dad the gift that keeps on giving with a Grill Masters Club subscription.

Meat from Snake River Farms

American Wagyu Tomahawk Steaks from Snake River Farms

Starting with a quality product will really help your dad or husband cook better on their Weber Kettle and it is hard to beat the meat from Snake River Farms. I have eaten dozens of their steaks, briskets, ribs, and roasts over the last couple years and I can honestly say I have never eaten higher quality meat. Just this evening I had some NY strips and was once again reminded how much better they are than what you get at the grocery store.

The Tomahawk steak (pictured above) will blow your dad or husband’s mine when they see it. These steaks are 2 and 1/2 pounds of awesome ribeye and there is no steak out there that is as visually striking as the Tomahawk. If you want some other steak suggestions check out these 5 Best Father’s Day Steaks.

If your dad likes cooking low and slow check out the American Wagyu briskets from Snake River. Most of the top competition bbq teams use these same briskets. A regular brisket is good but these American Wagyu briskets are otherworldly. The marbling and fat in them makes them super moist and tender and are the best briskets I have ever cooked.

Kettle Pizza

The Kettle Pizza is a pretty awesome contraption that will turn the Weber Kettle into a top notch pizza oven. With the right charcoal setup it is easy to hit temps of over 700 degrees with the Kettle Pizza and turn out some awesome wood fired pizzas in just a couple minutes. Sometimes you just have to cook something other than meat (did I just say that?) and what better to cook on the kettle than pizza?

Since the pizzas cook in just a couple minutes the Kettle Pizza is great for any sort of party. Just mix up a big batch of dough, set out a table of toppings, and have people build their own pizzas. Prosciutto and blue cheese is a favorite of mine.

One thing I would suggest is adding the baking steel to the Kettle Pizza. This will really up your pizza game by helping hold the heat closer to the pizza and it will also radiate more heat back to the top of the pizza so you can get those awesome burnt cheese bubbles. You can buy the baking steel on its own or get a kit that contains the Kettle Pizza and the steel.

Yeti Trailhead Chair

Yeti Trailhead Chair

So you got some grill accessories, now Dad needs somewhere to sit and relax. The Yeti Trailhead chair is $299 so it isn’t cheap but it is awesome. This isn’t a cheap camp chair you will need to replace ever year but one that will last a LONG time. Order your Yeti Trailhead chair for Fathers Day.

One of the best thing about picking one of these gifts for your dad or husband is they will be able to cook better meat on their Weber Kettle. As a result you get to eat better food. It really is a win-win. But don’t wait too long. Buy one of these Father’s Day gifts today to make sure it arrives on time.
